The Kenya Health Human Resource Advisory Council (KHHRAC) is established as a body corporate, with perpetual succession and common seal, under the PART V, Section 30-44 of the Health Act, 2017.
The Council was operationalized in 2023 following the gazettement of its Board through Gazette Notice Vol. CXXV-No. 111 of 15th May 2023. The Board was inaugurated by H.E. President William Ruto at State House, Nairobi, on 26th June 2023, marking a major milestone in institutionalizing coordinated governance for the health workforce.
KHHRAC has endeavored to bring together and engage stakeholders from both national and county governments, in addressing health workforce issues across the health sector. The Council continues to play a key role in ensuring Kenya has a sufficient, skilled and motivated health workforce to meet the country’s evolving healthcare needs.
